BiblioCommons: social-networking library catalogue

BiblioCommons, a social discovery tool for libraries that introduces commenting, tagging, ranking and other interactive elements to the online library catalogue, goes live in Oakville Public Library, Ontario. Canada.

BiblioCommons allows import of records from Amazon and LibraryThing as well, reports Informatie  Professional (no. 9, 2008, p. 9)

It does not seem to have the more elaborate faceted search display options common in (university) library OPACs like the MSU library that uses Encore, and more recently the India Environment Portal that uses  Drupal, an open source content management system.
